1 reported dead in New Hampshire home explosion

A person has been found dead in a New Hampshire home after numerous reports of an explosion, police said.

The person was found dead Tuesday afternoon in Merrimack, Merrimack police said in a press release.

Police said they had found evidence of “a possible explosion” and surrounding areas had been secured.

An unknown person has been found dead after an explosion at a home in Merrimack, New Hampshire, just outside Manchester.

The Merrimack Police Department was assisted by neighboring departments, as well as the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, the FBI, and the State Police’s Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit. The ATF did not respond to a message asking for comment on Wednesday.

“There is no sign of foul play and no threats to the public,” the police press release said.
