Two inmates who escaped a jail in Mississippi whereas awaiting trial for homicide have been captured after a manhunt, authorities stated Saturday.
Tyrekennel Collins, 24, and Dezarrious Johnson, 18, have been each discovered inside an deserted dwelling in Claiborne County on Saturday after they escaped from the Claiborne County Detention Middle the day gone by, Claiborne County Sheriff Edward Items stated.
Collins and Johnson have been seen on surveillance footage escaping by way of the ceiling and abandoning an outdoor wall round 2:20 a.m., Items stated.
Johnson injured his proper leg through the escape and was strolling with a “unhealthy limp,” based on the sheriff’s workplace.

Collins is charged with the October 2023 homicide of his cousin in Copiah County, and Johnson is charged with homicide and aggravated assault in Jefferson County stemming from an October 2022 incident, WJTV-TV reported.
