Two folks have been rescued after a small airplane taking off from Florida made an emergency touchdown within the waters of the Turks and Caicos Islands within the Caribbean.

Police within the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands mentioned shortly after midday on Saturday that they’d obtained stories of a airplane touchdown within the water about 10 miles (16 kilometers) off Providenciales Island.

“The plane, which had departed from the US, suffered an engine failure,” police mentioned in a press release. “There are reportedly two folks on board.”

Police sources advised ABC Information {that a} search was launched and with help from the U.S. Coast Guard, each passengers – a person and a girl – had been rescued and brought to an area hospital on Saturday afternoon.
