The 2023 Eritrean National Cycling Championship, which started on June 23 with an individual time trial competition in ‘Elite’ groups and under-23 and women’s categories, ends today, June 25, over 173.4 km.
In the Elite and U-23 categories, Awet Aman of Denden Club took first place, while Petros Mengis of Eri-Tel Club and Professional Cyclist Henok Mulubrhan of Italian Club Bardini took second and third respectively.
Accordingly, Awet Aman, who has a scholarship at the UCI Training Center, became the winner of the 2023 Eritrean National Cycling Championship, and Petros Mengis and Aklilu Arefaine became the winners of the silver and bronze medals respectively.
In the ladies Kisanet Woldemicael of Serair Sawa won the gold medal, while Feven of the same club won the silver medal and Adiam Dawit van Denden Club won the bronze medal.
In the junior women’s category, Rumna Gu’ush took first place and Meron Misgina from the junior men’s category won the gold medal.
