FIRST ON FOX: President Biden’s re-election campaign faces flashing warning signs from the 2024 Democratic primary, according to political strategists.
In the political world, polls can range from a green light to a fire alarm in Chile, and the Democratic presidential primary of early 2024 looks like the last before President Biden’s re-election campaign.
Biden is bleeding blue support for his party rivals entering the 2024 presidential race after primary challengers Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. and Marianne Williamson entered the race.

While the Democratic National Committee (DNC) has stated that they will not host primary debates for this election, the sheer amount of support Biden has lost to his blue rivals over the course of a few weeks does not bode well for the president.
A Fox News poll last week found that a combined 28% of Democratic primary voters have switched from Biden to Kennedy and Williamson. Kennedy took 19% of Biden’s supporters, while Williamson took 9%.
TJ Litafik, director of political consulting firm Solon Strategies that has worked with both Blue and Red campaigns, warned that these “recent polls should ring alarm bells in the White House indicating that President Biden will have his hands full in 2024, not only against Republicans.”
“While it is true that Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. has certain unorthodox views of the Democratic mainstream, he also has personal power and a name that holds its magic within his party,” Litafik told Fox News Digital.

“Biden’s well-documented policy failures on the national and international stages have weakened our nation, threatened our future and made our lives worse — which is why the dam could break,” Gidley said.
“In 30 years, we’ve gone from a top Democrat who claimed to ‘feel your pain’ to someone who inexplicably brags about causing you pain,” Gidley continued. “There’s no question that the Kennedy name helps Robert, but it’s also clear that the Biden record hurts Joe.”

“Surrogates will be deployed to try and wreck Kennedy, which will only wind his sails,” he continued. “Does Kennedy have the legs to make it to the finish line or even the starting line will depend in part on how well Team Biden puts in the effort.”
Across the aisle, Democratic strategist Jennice Fuentes told Fox News Digital that “the Kennedy name is still important in the Democratic Party,” but said the latest poll is the highest it will pass.
“I imagine this is a high point for Robert Kennedy, Jr.” said Fuentes. “Once Democrats become familiar with his disturbing views in a number of key areas, especially regarding vaccines and issues important to transgender people, plus his use of deeply disturbing language that evokes the Holocaust, I believe he will see an erosion .”
“Even if the Democrats are not yet excited about Biden, they will rally around the president when they compare him to the alternatives,” the former congressional chief of staff continued. “President Biden has an impressive record.”
“However, I think the White House has yet to fully communicate that to the majority of the country. If they do, I think his status will only improve. People keep wanting to fire Joe Biden. Do you remember early 2020? I expected him to win the nomination, let alone the White House. That’s credit to his skill at looking at campaigns in their entirety, rather than focusing on snapshots like early polls. Let’s keep this in mind.’
“In conclusion, while very few look forward to a rematch, and that a rematch shows consistent margins at this point, the numbers continue to rise for Biden and shrink for Trump, as we saw in 2020,” Fuentes added.
Next year will be a big battle for President Biden as the GOP looks to retake the White House, and he must deal with the unpopularity of the other half of his destiny, Vice President Kamala Harris.

Harris is an unpopular vice president who, like her running mate, has driven below 40 in the most recent approval polls.
In fact, in approval polls, Harris has not progressed past the 40s in her approval rating since her first year in office in 2021.
Regardless of her unpopularity, even among Democrats, the consequence of Harris’ vice presidency could ultimately determine the outcome of the 2024 presidential election.

In addition, the DNC faced Democratic criticism, as Williamson and others decried the lack of debates, although it is common for the party in power to avoid primaries when it is in control of the White House.
Williamson and Kennedy have also made New Hampshire a prime target of their race since the DNC changed the order of the primaries. The national party knocked New Hampshire out of first place, but the state will likely hold an unsanctioned primary on the desired date — meaning Biden may not even appear on the primary ballot in that state.
