The business forum organized by the Albania-Italy Chamber of Commerce took place in Tirana, where Prime Minister Edi Rama spoke about the need to intensify trade exchanges.

The Deputy Prime Minister, Belinda Balluku, and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Italy, Edmondo Cirielli, signed a cooperation agreement for the improvement of the energy network in the north of Albania.

“Through this agreement, the Albanian state will receive a loan of 35 million euros and through this loan we will develop a project, which consists in improving the distribution system, specifically in the area of Shkodra, Lezha and Fushë-Kruja, with the main focus on the improvement of existing substations, the Scada system and the medium voltage network, thus providing opportunities for state agencies, state enterprises, but also private ones to provide a quality service in the supply of electricity”, said Balluku.

The Deputy Prime Minister, Balluku, also spoke about the current situation of electricity sales in international markets.

“We want to hope, despite the fact that energy is an unpredictable market already, we want to hope that the year 2023 will be a more stable year. A year where the price trend is downward, it has long been stabilized as a price per megawatt, but on the other hand we hope that due to the atmospheric conditions and the favorable situation we have in the Drin cascade, the year 2023 will be a year of stable where we have the opportunity to increase the financial capacities for investments in the energy field”, she added.
