Authorities say a shooting in a parking lot outside a stadium where youths had gathered this weekend left eight people injured, one seriously.

Police in Chester said the gunfire occurred shortly before 11:30 p.m. Sunday on the lot outside Subaru Park, where the Philadelphia Union plays. Witnesses said about 100 youths had gathered on the grounds to celebrate the approaching end of the school year and holiday. Some of the victims appeared to have been injured as they fled the gunfire, officials said.

City of Delaware Police Commissioner Steven Gretsky told reporters eight people were taken to the hospital. They were all released Monday afternoon except for a 17-year-old boy who was in critical condition, Gretsky said.
