It happened in the city of Alderetes, in Tucumán. The victim of the attack was rendered unconscious by the injuries she sustained, but she was assisted and is out of danger.
A violent early morning and a femicide attempt that ended with the attacker taking his own life. It happened in Alderetes, a city in the Cruz Alta department, in the province of Tucumán. A 30-year-old man stabbed his partner, thought he had killed her, and committed suicide.
The dramatic episode occurred on Tuesday morning in a house located at 100 Lamadrid Street, in the town located east of the Tucuman capital.
It was after 5 when a young woman called 911 to report that her partner had attacked her. A motorized patrol quickly went to the place and found the 28-year-old victim lying on an armchair and in a state of shock. She had stab wounds.
When the troops reached the roof of the house, they found him lifeless. He had hanged himself. He was later identified as Víctor Hugo Palavecino.
The woman was transferred by personnel from the 107 Emergency Service to the Padilla Hospital. The last medical part reported that the woman is recovering from the injuries and is out of danger.
The Specialized Homicide Unit II of the Public Prosecutor’s Office under Carlos Sale is investigating the case.
Commissioner Fabio Ferreyra, head of the Eastern Regional Unit, told local media outlet Los Primeros TV that the couple lived in the house with an aunt of the victim, in her 60s.
A similar case in Corrientes
In a rural area of the city of Mercedes, Corrientes province, a young man also committed suicide after stabbing his girlfriend and believing that he had killed her.
The event occurred on May 12, when Agustín Benítez, 20, went looking for his girlfriend on a motorcycle. When they reached a neighborhood road known as “El Herrero”, located at kilometer 104 of National Route No. 119, the young man stopped and began to insult her.
The screams were increasing. He accused her of an alleged deception. At one point, he pulled out a knife and stabbed into her neck. The young woman tried to stop the aggression, but she received deep cuts in her hands.
Seeing some neighbors passing through the place and alerted the situation, the attacker fled. He was on the run for almost a day until the police found him lifeless. He had the same knife with which he had attacked his girlfriend stuck in her throat. Furthermore, half of his body was inside a cement sewer pipe.
Meanwhile, Alejandra -the victim- was transferred to the Las Mercedes Hospital, where she received the first treatments and was hospitalized, out of danger.
