According to the global Italian ranking The Best Pizza Awards 2023, two Argentine pizzerias are among the best in the world. Although Italian pizzerias top both the list and the special awards, South America is represented by both our country and Brazil, which also won two awards. After Italy, the USA is the country with the most awards.
The announcement was made virtually this Sunday and the next appointment will take place on November 20 in Yucatán (Mexico), where the annual gala The Best Chef Awards 2023 will take place. The Best Pizza result was prepared based on opinions and votes from a group of 200 people, including pizza makers and other gastronomy professionals from 6 continents, 24 countries and 74 cities.
The Argentines honored by this ranking are Daniel Sebastián Levy, pizza master at Eléctrica (Julián Álvarez 1295), a modern pizzeria in the Villa Crespo district, which reached number 58, and the sisters Victoria and Carola Santoro, owners of Ti Amo, which has two pizzerias Locations. , the first in Adrogué (Diag. Toll 1420) and the second in Colegiales (Freire 1393), positioned at number 73.

There are around eleven varieties in total, plus delicious main dishes such as Faina with provolone, wood-baked cauliflower with pesto and Super Chipá filled with muzzarella and mushrooms.
The Santoro sisters, for their part, had already reached number 50 in this ranking last year. And they had received the “One to Watch 2022” award, given to the restaurants specializing in pizza in different parts of the world that “must keep an eye on” because they represent “the future” of this sector.
After this success, these Adrogué-born pizza masters opened the doors of La Sorellina – “little sister” in Italian – in Colegiales. Their individual pizzas with mega-puffed edges and thin bases are very trendy in both districts. His hits include the Sorrento potato with mascarpone, lemon, garlic and lots of Parmesan cheese as well as the heart note of burrata, basil and “lots of Parmesan”, a specialty of the pizzeria.

Recognition in 2022 had a big impact on your business. “People come from Tokyo, we had a few who come from or to Ezeiza airport and have dinner with their suitcase next to the table since we are close, in reference to Palermo,” Victoria told Clarín and last year added: “Everyone goes happy, we are happy.”
