Pilot killed in mid-air collision in California

A pilot was killed, and one other particular person was injured Sunday afternoon in a mid-air collision close to Los Angeles, California, police mentioned. 

Officers confirmed {that a} Yakovlev Yak 52 collided with a Nanchang CJ-6A close to Lancaster, about an hour and a half north of Los Angeles, round midday.

The Los Angeles Sheriff’s Division (LASD) confirmed to Fox Information Digital that the collision resulted in a single fatality. The LASD didn’t affirm if there have been different occupants on board.

Investigators with the Nationwide Transportation Security Board had been anticipated to reach on the scene Monday to assemble data. Lancaster deputies had been on scene to help with site visitors and road closures.
