On a northwestern Florida beach, a shark was seen swimming in shallow water just offshore, sparking a panic.
In the images circulating on social networks you can see people running out of the water while sharks circle the area.
Shared the footage online by Christy Cox, who said the shark was just chasing fish, but urged swimmers to be aware of their surroundings.
“Everything happened very fast. A dolphin was next to the shark at first and then it disappeared. As expected, the shark was just trying to eat and then moved on to the swimmers. Everyone was shocked when the shark washed up on the beach. We were all stunned. We all had to remember that it was a natural thing and that we were in his house, so stay tuned!” Cox said.
The Director of Beach Safety, Austin Turnbill, confirmed that Navarra has seen sharks and that the sightings do not usually cause panic.
