A flag with Nazi symbols was found inside the vehicle. They suspect that the man acted intentionally. You will be charged.

The United States Secret Service arrested the driver of a truck that crashed into security barriers near the White House on Monday night. The anti-bomb protocol was activated, the streets were closed and some nearby buildings, such as the Hay Adams hotel, were evacuated. There were no injuries.

The episode occurred around 10 p.m. (local time). According to Anthony Guglielmi, a spokesman for the Secret Service, the suspect may have intentionally caused the accident.

After the crash, the security forces closed several streets near the residence of the president of the United States, Joe Biden, while ruling out the possibility that there was no explosive in the vehicle. For that, a remote-controlled robot opened the rear compartment of the truck.

In one of the videos that circulated on social networks, you can see how one of the policemen took a flag from inside the truck that, when displayed on the ground, shows a swastika with Nazi symbols.

“Shortly before 10:00 p.m. Monday, officers from the Uniformed Division of the Secret Service detained the driver of a box truck after the vehicle collided with security barriers on the north side of Lafayette Square at 16th Street.” They reported from the Secret Service.

They added: “There were no injuries among Secret Service or White House personnel and the cause and manner of the accident remain under investigation. Road closures are in effect and pedestrian walkways are closed while we investigate.”

In addition, they specified that the truck was “considered safe” by the Police and that investigations suggest that “the driver may have intentionally hit the security barriers in Lafayette Square.”
