Pablo Barrio (27) was found handcuffed on Saturday morning on the waterfront. They investigate the motive for the crime.

The autopsy carried out on the body of the young man found on the Quilmes waterfront revealed that he died by hanging and was submerged under water for about eight hours, for which reason the investigators were working to understand the motive for what was revealed as a homicide.

This was confirmed by judicial and police sources, who have been working since Saturday to determine what happened to Pablo Jorge Barrio (27), whose body was found handcuffed this Saturday morning.

The body appeared on the waterfront of the Río de la Plata, in the aforementioned town in the south of the suburbs. The one who found it was a man who was walking along the coast. According to what the sources told Télam, it is believed that Barrio was murdered by hanging, although the preliminary results of the autopsy are awaited.

“The body had special characteristics. It was allegedly submerged in the waters of the river for at least eight hours and was already dead when it was left there,” the sources told Télam. The investigators are trying to establish the motive for the crime, although they believe that the hypothesis of a reckoning “is almost ruled out,” according to an investigation of the cause.

The victim worked as a cleaning employee in a supermarket chain in the town of Quilmes, and according to relatives, the last time they saw him was last Tuesday at 9:00 p.m.

“He should have shown up for work the next day and he didn’t. He lived with another young man in a house in the town of Claypole,” they said.

Meanwhile, prosecutor Karina Gallo, who subrogates the Functional Instruction Unit (UFI) 2 of Quilmes, ordered officers from the Departmental Investigation Delegation (DDI) of Quilmes to interview relatives and relatives of the victim, in addition to conducting the analysis of private and municipal security cameras to establish the movements in the area of the discovery.

“The victim’s communications are going to be analyzed, although the cell phone was not found,” explained an investigator, who added that there was no whereabouts request for Barrio nor did he have a criminal record.

The discovery occurred yesterday Saturday morning next to the river on Costanera and Otamendi streets, where a metal collector observed the body lying face down with its hands tied at waist level with a rope.

According to the sources, the investigations found an identity document in the victim’s pocket, with address in the Buenos Aires town of Claypole.
