Deportivo Achuapa, before all odds, gave the surprise of this first round of the quarterfinals of the Clausura Tournament, by defeating Comunicaciones 2-0.

In the technical duel, the rookie Hamilton López won the first game over the experienced and top winner with Comunicaciones Willy Coito.

A game that put the balance in favor of the winner of the qualifying stage, ended up leaning to the side of the team that took the last place to be in the big party.

Achuapa showed his best version and from the first minutes of the game, taking control of the ball and facing in search of damaging the goal defended by Fredy Pérez.

And the prize came at minute 23. An overflow through the sector on the left by Kevin Bordón and the one formed in the creams crossed upon the arrival of Erick Lemus, but before that Erik González crossed the path with the intention of closing, but he ended up sending the ball to the bottom of his own goal to score the first goal for the cebolleros.

The score was a bucket of cold water for the capital team that had to change their scheme to go in search of a tie, but their attacks failed to disturb goalkeeper Andrés Salazar.

But the motivated Jutiapans did not lower their game intensity and continued to stalk the lower zone of Comunicaciones and at minute 35 they took a bad save from the white defense to increase the score.

Erick Lemus without any mark, in complete solitude raised a cross to the heart of the area where Kevin Bordón closed, who sent the ball to the bottom with a header, taking advantage of poor marking and a terrible start by goalkeeper Fredy Pérez.

In the complementary part, Comunicaciones sought to go for a tie, but ran into an Achuapaneco team that knew how to order in each of its lines, to prevent its frame from being violated.

Time was wearing out and the albos couldn’t even discount the score and the cebolleros still had a couple of clear options to increase the numbers, but they failed to define.

With this result, Comunicaciones will have to play a perfect match in the return match, which will be played on Sunday at 6:00 p.m. at the Doroteo Guamuch Flores stadium.

The creams need to win by two goals to equalize the series or by three to come back and advance to the semifinals. While the jutiapanecos a tie by any score, winning or even falling by a goal difference, they would be advancing in the series.
