Classic rockers Aerosmith has postponed all of its 2023 tour dates until next year due to singer Steven Tyler’s ongoing vocal cord and larynx problems.

The band had previously postponed its September tour dates, but now says that Tyler’s injuries are “more serious than initially thought.”

The singer’s doctor, the band says, “has confirmed that in addition to the damage to his vocal cords, he fractured his larynx which requires ongoing care. He is receiving the best medical treatment available to ensure his recovery is swift, but given the nature of a fracture, he is being told patience is essential.”

In canceling the September dates, the band had said that Tyler suffered an injury that caused “bleeding vocal cords.”

All 2023 dates on the “Peace Out: The Farewell Tour” have now been canceled and will be rescheduled for 2024. The new dates, the band says, will “be announced as soon as we know more.” All previously purchased tickets will be honored for the rescheduled dates, and refunds will be available for those unable to attend once those dates are announced.

Tyler included his own message along with the band post: “I am heartbroken not to be out there with Aerosmith, my brothers and the incredible Black Crowes, rocking with the best fans in the world. I promise we will be back as soon as we can!”

Today’s news comes just days after another classic rocker, Bruce Springsteen, postponed all 2023 tour dates for health reasons, in his case a peptic ulcer.
