A campus police officer was shot and injured in Denver early Monday morning whereas making an attempt to apprehend a suspect who had trespassed right into a car, officers stated.

The capturing unfolded at round 1:18 a.m. on the Auraria Campus, which is shared by Neighborhood Faculty of Denver, Metropolitan State College of Denver, and College of Colorado Denver, in downtown Denver, campus officers stated in a press release.

Two campus officers approached a suspect who was discovered “trespassing right into a car,” the assertion stated. The suspect allegedly assaulted the officers and fled.

When the officers later tracked down the suspect, officers stated he resisted, and officers deployed a taser.
