The Kosovo Statistics Agency has published the report “Wage Level in Kosovo” for 2022, which contains data on the average gross and net salary according to sectors and economic activities in the Public Sector (Administration), Public Enterprises and the Private Sector in Kosovo.
According to KAS data, in 2022, the average gross wages in Kosovo were 521 euros, while in 2021 they were 484 euros. So, according to this report, there was an increase of 37 euros from the previous year. Meanwhile, the net salary in 2022 was 446 euros, compared to 2021, which was 432 euros. So, an increase of 14 euros”, says the report.
In the KAS report, it is known that the average gross salary in the private sector in 2022 was 473 euros, while in 2021 it was 419 euros. So, according to KAS, there was an increase of 54 euros. Meanwhile, the average net salary was 401 euros, compared to 2021, which was 376 euros. So an increase of 25 euros.
“The average gross salary in the public sector in 2012 was 407 euros, until in 2022 it was 604 euros, increasing by 197 euros, or 48.4%. Meanwhile, the average net salary increased from 366 euros in 2012 to 536 euros in 2022. An increase of 170 euros, or 46.4%, according to the report.
Meanwhile, the average gross salary in the sector of public enterprises in 2012 was 561 euros, while in 2022 it was 789 euros. According to KAS, there is an increase of 228 euros or 40.6%. Meanwhile, the average net salary increased from 502 euros in 2012 to 659 euros in 2022.
“An increase of 157 euros, or 31.3%”, says the report. The level of the highest wages in Kosovo was the sector of public enterprises, while the lowest wages were the private sector.
According to KAS, the average gross salary in 2022, according to economic activities, was the highest in: Supply of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning (968 Euros) and Information and communication (896 Euros). Until then, the lowest salary was in accommodation and food service activities (323 Euros).
“The average net salary in 2022, according to economic activities, has the same ranking as follows: Supply of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning 804 euros); Information and communication 745 euros; accommodation and food service activities (277 Euros)”, the announcement states.
