Washington’s Spokane International Airport suspended airline operations after a bomb threat by a passenger aboard a flight en route from Atlanta to Seattle, according to multiple reports.

Alaska Airlines told Fox News Digital that the flight was diverted to Spokane “as a precaution” after a male passenger made an “immediate threat” aboard Alaska Airlines Flight 334. A ground stop was subsequently issued at the airport, officials said.

“There was a security incident this afternoon involving Alaska Airlines Flight 334 from Atlanta to Seattle. A male guest posed a direct threat to the safety of our aircraft against one of our flight attendants,” Alaska Airlines said in a statement. “In accordance with safety procedures, local and federal law enforcement officials were immediately notified and met the plane when it arrived.”

Spokane Airport spokesman Todd Woodard told KREM 2 that airport police have taken one person into custody and other passengers who witnessed someone being taken away in handcuffs confirmed the arrest.

Alaska Airlines said the flight, which was carrying 177 passengers and 6 crew members, landed safely in Spokane at 5:15 p.m. PT. They were all safely evacuated.

“We appreciate their patience and understanding during this situation. We are working to get them to Seattle, their original destination, as quickly as possible. We are grateful for the professionalism and care of our flight attendants and pilots during this incident,” the airline said. . told Fox News Digital.
