California Navy sailors injured in watercraft

Five sailors at Point Loma Naval Base in San Diego, California, were injured in a watercraft accident early Friday morning.

Emergency services were reportedly contacted around 2 a.m. by a US Navy source. FOX 5 San Diego reported.

A US Navy spokesman told FOX 5 that the ship of a US Naval Special Warfare Command unit hit Zuniga Point, a large jetty in San Diego Bay. The group performed routine training operations.

According to the San Diego Union Grandstand, two of the injured were sent to hospital in acute condition, a more serious condition. None of the injuries were considered life-threatening.

Four of the injured were support personnel, one was a Navy SEAL. All sailors are in stable condition.

The San Diego Fire Department told Fox News Digital they could not comment on the incident.
