A judge on Monday postponed the case against the former Arizona corrections director until July in a meeting in which police say he fired a gun at his home in Tempe and pointed a firearm at two officers during a three-hour standoff.

The judge agreed to move Monday’s settlement conference for Charles Ryan to July 13 after lawyers for both sides said they wanted to examine additional evidence.

On January 6, 2022, police were called to the home.

The former prison boss, who retired in 2019, also suffered a hand injury from a projectile fired by police after Ryan pointed a gun at officers.
