Chicago law enforcement officials have been seen Thursday morning taking down an anti-Israel encampment that had continued for greater than two weeks at DePaul College. 

Officers in riot gear have been seen on the North Aspect campus simply earlier than 6 a.m. to clear the encampment on DePaul College’s Lincoln Park quad, WLS reported. 

The encampment started on April 30. 

In a letter on Thursday morning, DePaul President Robert L. Manuel mentioned “our Workplace of Public Security and Chicago Police at the moment are disassembling the encampment. Each particular person presently within the encampment will probably be given the chance to depart peacefully and with out being arrested. I urge all there to depart peacefully and return residence.”

Manuel mentioned college negotiators have been unable to achieve a shared decision with the DePaul Divestment Coalition after 17 days of discussions.
