The man presented his digital driver’s license and was told it was invalid.

The Highway Police of Córdoba was left in the middle of the controversy after a driver denounced that, after presenting the digital driver’s license, an agent asked to be fined “for an asshole.”

The protagonist of this story is Mariano, who was traveling from Carlos Paz to Córdoba to attend a medical shift when they stopped him to demand documentation. When showing his registration through his cell phone, they told him that it was invalid.

It was then that an argument began that gradually heated up. One of the agents contacted a superior to explain the situation. It was then that, through audio, he received an unexpected response: “Let them find out in the Misdemeanor Court if they have any questions. Give him a fine now, for being an asshole.”

For his part, Mariano filmed with his cell phone the exact moment in which the insult is heard. Visibly angry, he reprimanded him: “How do you give me a ticket for being an asshole? I’m recording you. Tell me who told you that. I have recorded you. Identify who said that and identify yourself too.”

“Make him a fine for being an asshole”: The policeman who received the controversial response in an audio on his cell phone.

Finally, the man was able to continue his journey without being fined. Far from forgetting the situation, he contacted El Doce to tell the details and express his indignation: “They left me on the shore for a long time, standing still. They did not give me explanations as to whether the card was valid or not.”

“In the end they didn’t give me a fine and nobody picked me up. They realized they were missing. I have blood pressure problems, that’s why I went to the doctor. At one point I told them I felt bad and they gave me a place to to sit down and a bottle to drink water. Why? Because they knew they had been wrong and that I had everything recorded,” he completed.

In the end, the digital card was not valid

“This summer I went to Brazil by car and I showed everyone the digital card. I even googled if it was valid and everywhere it said yes,” Mariano justified himself.

However, he clarified: “Now I looked at the Mi Argentina application and it says that the card is valid throughout the territory of Argentina except on the Córdoba and Caminera Police routes.”

Then, Miguel Ángel Rizzotti, general director of Traffic Accident Prevention in Córdoba, provided details in this regard: “The digital license is not enough. It is only complementary to the physical one, that is, it does not replace it.”

“Actually, by saying that it is complementary, it means that it is necessary to show the license in physical format,” he added.

To explain the uselessness of the digital card, he pointed out: “It was created from a decree four or five years ago. The problem is that all the provinces opposed it because they did not have the computer tools to verify them and they did not have connectivity in all the routes of the country”.
