CAIRO – A fourth Bahraini soldier died on Friday after a Houthi drone attack on Monday against Saudi-led coalition forces in Saudi Arabia near the border with Yemen, the Bahrain Defense Force (BDF) said on Friday.
The officer died of his injuries on Friday, BDF said in a statement.
Yemen’s Iran-aligned Houthi movement has been battling the Saudi-led coalition since 2015 in a conflict that has killed hundreds of thousands of people and left 80% of the population dependent on aid.
The drone strike follows more than a year of relative calm in Yemen as negotiations gather pace. It could jeopardize talks between Saudi and Houthi officials, who just held a new round of negotiations on a possible deal to end the conflict. REUTERS
