A Garífuna woman was shot to death inside her home on Thursday afternoon in the Irías del Este neighborhood, behind La Cosecha Ministry in La Ceiba, Atlántida.
The woman was identified by neighbors as Kerlyn Castillo Loredo.
According to preliminary information from witnesses, the woman was attacked with bullets by a man who arrived at the Maranatha grocery store that worked in her home and shot her to death.
National Police agents arrived at the house to investigate the crime, which is presumed to have been extortion.
