The Department of Anti-Terrorism Investigation Unit (DUIA) of the Federal Police (PFA) arrested a man on Wednesday night in Florencio Varela who had threatened an anti-Semitic attack against the Argentine Jewish community, according to the Delegation of Argentine Israeli Associations. (DAY).
This is Cristian Adrián Díaz, 47, who was arrested in a house located on Misiones street, in the aforementioned party in the province of Buenos Aires. The arrest warrant was issued by Judge Ariel Lijo.
The crime of threats against the Jewish community for which he is accused occurred on May 9, when the suspect posted an intimidating message on his Facebook account, accompanied by a flyer for the “BA Celebrate Israel” event organized by the Buenos Aires government. Over the image, he superimposed several campfire emojis.

“Hey, it’s not a thing that what happened in Tunisia happens in other parts of the world. It’s not that I want to give ideas. They just murdered children and women in Gaza, maybe they should suspend,” Díaz wrote.
Two days later, an official from the Israeli Embassy echoed this publication and went to the Federal Police office to file the corresponding complaint.
Finally, Cristian Adrián Díaz was arrested this Wednesday in the middle of a raid in Florencio Varela. At the time of his capture, he was wearing a T-shirt that read: “Free Palestine.”

In the house they found a notebook with notes in Arabic, some pamphlets with Palestinian flags, an application to obtain the nationality of that country and money receipts that he made in 2018 and 2019 to Palestinian families, with seven identified beneficiaries. In addition, they kidnapped a computer and his cell phone.
“From the DAIA we recognize the great investigative work carried out by the Argentine Federal Police and we highlight its permanent commitment in the fight against anti-Semitism and discrimination. We continue to work together in the protection of the Argentine Jewish community,” the DAIA remarked on Twitter.
