Head washed on Florida seaside belonged to lacking boy, 19: ‘Insurmountable’ ache

A household craving for the return of their beloved 19-year-old brother had been left devastated after a head that washed ashore in South Florida final week was recognized as his.

Victor Enrique Castaneda Jr., 19, went lacking Saturday, Nov. 9 close to the jetty space at South Level Seaside. His sister, Jessica Castaneda, beforehand advised the Miami Herald that the pair had been overtaken by a powerful rip present.

On Tuesday, Nov. 12, after three days of unsuccessful searches for the lacking teen, a seaside employee in Key Biscayne stumbled upon a human head that had washed ashore, the Miami-Dade Police Division confirmed to Fox Information Digital.

Now, the thriller has been solved, with the Miami-Dade Coroner’s Workplace confirming to the Miami Herald that it belonged to Victor.

Police are persevering with to research the reason for demise, with the coroner’s workplace extending their condolences to household and pals. The Miami Herald reported that the teenager’s demise isn’t being thought-about as a murder within the ongoing investigation.

“The Miami Seaside Police Division extends prayers and condolences to the household,” Cmdr. Shantell Mitchell advised the outlet. “Our sufferer advocates will proceed to supply help to the household throughout this time.”

The Miami Seaside Police Division didn’t instantly reply to Fox Information Digital’s request for remark.

In a Nov. 12 Fb submit, Jessica wrote that her brother’s absence “won’t ever be accepted,” describing the ache of loss as “insurmountable.”

“The ache I’m left with is insurmountable,” she wrote alongside photographs of the 19-year-old. “My coronary heart is totally and irreparably shattered. Your absence won’t ever be accepted. No phrases may ever describe how a lot I like you Victor. To the highest of the very best mountain and to the depths deeper than the titanic, I like you little brother. I like you a lot.”
