Emma Coronel, current wife of Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán, is about to be released from prison after serving her sentence for money laundering and collaboration with the Sinaloa Cartel.
According to Donald Murphy, spokesman for the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP), the former beauty queen will regain her freedom on September 13, 2023.
Due to the time she was in prison, Emma Coronel was able to reconsider her actions and, after her release, she plans to start a new life, according to her lawyer Mariel Colón.
In addition, the lawyer, who is also the defender of “El Chapo” Guzmán, also assured that the former beauty queen plans to resume some of the clothing line she launched in 2019: JGL.
“When she finishes with this whole process, she wants to resume her clothing line,” Colón Miró told journalist María Antonieta Collins in an interview on Univisión.
