Hunter Biden’s lawyer Abbe Lowell accused US congressmen of harboring an “obsession with attacking the Biden family” and flouting protocol in a fiery statement Friday.
Fox News received a 10-page letter from Lowell, which was sent to Rep. Jason Smith, R-Mo., Chairman of the House Committee on Ways and Means.
In the letter, Lowell questions why Republicans allegedly distributed fake images of the alleged WhatsApp messages involving Hunter.
An IRS whistleblower involved in the tax evasion case against Hunter said the president’s son used WhatsApp messages to call on his father, then-Vice President Joe Biden, to put pressure on a Chinese business associate.

The alleged messages show Hunter claiming that the elder Biden was in the room while making deals.
“The screenshots you posted are not real and contain numerous issues,” Lowell explained, adding that the alleged WhatsApp messages did not appear to be on the platform and appeared altered.
“(Both) images show the message in a blue bubble, while WhatsApp messages are green; one image superimposed the China flag over the contact ID,” Lowell described.
“Many media articles confirm that data purportedly coming from Mr. Biden’s devices has been altered or tampered with,” the lawyer added.
The aggressive letter ended with the accusation that Smith had forwarded “a false political narrative”.

“We can only hope that the deceptive methods you use, some of which are outlined in this letter, will educate the public about the proper way things should be done,” Lowell concluded.
The Ways and Means Committee fired back in a statement, accusing Lowell of trying to “cool down” the investigation with a “retaliatory tone”.
