Jon Landau, an Oscar-winning producer of “Titanic,” “Avatar” and its sequel “The Means of Water,” has died. He was 63.
Landau’s dying was confirmed by Disney Leisure co-chairman Alan Bergman, who known as him a “visionary.”
“Jon was a visionary whose extraordinary expertise and keenness introduced a number of the most unforgettable tales to life on the large display,” Bergman stated of Landau. “His outstanding contributions to the movie business have left an indelible mark and he can be deeply missed. He was an iconic and profitable producer, but additionally an excellent better individual and a real drive of nature who impressed everybody round him.”

Landau started his profession in Hollywood within the Nineteen Eighties, first as a manufacturing supervisor and later as a co-producer on such classics as 1989’s “Honey I Shrunk the Children” and 1990’s “Dick Tracy.”
He finally went on to work intently with “Titanic” and “Avatar” director James Cameron and have become president of his manufacturing firm Lightstorm Leisure.

“I can not act, I can not compose and I can not do visible results, so I suppose that is why I produce,” Landau joked with Cameron throughout their acceptance speech when “Titanic” gained Greatest Image in 1998.
