A Hong Kong girl was arrested for making an attempt to smuggle 29 protected turtles from america to Canada.
Wan Yee Ng, 41, entered a responsible plea Friday in U.S. District Court docket in Burlington, Vermont, to a single depend of smuggling jap field turtles from Vermont to Canada.
Japanese field turtles are a protected species in Vermont, in addition to in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Michigan and New Hampshire.

Police mentioned the 41-year-old was caught red-handed as she was loading up her inflatable kayak to make the journey to the Canadian facet of Lake Wallace.

She has been taken into custody since her arrest in June and can stay in custody pending her sentencing. She might be sentenced on December 13 and faces as much as 10 years in jail and a high-quality of as much as $250,000.
