The figure is equivalent to more than half of the debt that the Avellaneda club has with América de México.

Santiago Maratea reappeared on social networks to give Independiente fans good news: the collection he organized to financially help the Avellaneda club has already exceeded 700 million pesos, which, according to the influencer, is equivalent to more than half of the debt that the institution has with the America of Mexico.

“I appear, I know they missed me. I was missing on Sunday because I was with a journalist’s wife. Ah, it started spicy. Lie, it wasn’t for that,” Maratea began, true to his style, a series of stories that he published on his account Instagram official.

Then, he focused fully on the collection: “Can we be serious? We are adult people. As I was saying, we exceeded 700 million pesos, friends. Let them count it as they please and like. This is a fact.” .

“With the fans of Independiente we have already collected more than 700 million pesos. This represents 53% of the total debt, we exceed half. When we reach 1,000 million it will be crazy,” he added.

Likewise, he referred to the possibility of opening an account abroad so that Independiente fans who live abroad can also contribute to the cause: “Believe me, I’m behind that every day, trying to open different accounts in the abroad to find out which is the least risky and the most agile to get the money out of there. I still don’t have concrete news”

Finally, he motivated his followers to reach a new goal: “Reaching 800 million is not that difficult: we are at May 9, many people have already received their salary. With only 25,000 people who put 4,000 pesos we already reached 800 millions”.

At the time of uploading the last publication, the collection had added another 10 million pesos.

Also on Instagram, he conducted a survey to learn more about the status of the campaign. “Answer honestly,” requested Maratea. Then, he gave four options: “I already put and I’m going to put it again”, “I already put it and I’m not going to put it again”, “I didn’t put it, but now I’m going to put it”, “I didn’t put it or I won’t put it”.

More than half of the voters admitted that they did not and will not put money for the collection. Specifically, the results were as follows: Option A took 23%, B got 14%, C got 12%, and D won 51%. Although it is used to make estimates, it is far from giving certainty, since anyone can vote and not only the fans of Independiente.

Although the money collected continues to rise, it is no longer as fast as in the early days. Without going any further, 650 million pesos were raised in the first week. However, in the following five days it barely exceeded 50 million.

At the launch of the trust, Santiago Maratea established that the objective was to reach 20 million dollars to pay the debts of Independiente, a club that is currently inhibited by FIFA for the claim derived from the payment of the Paraguayan pass Cecilio Domínguez, transaction that the previous management, chaired by Hugo Moyano, did not complete.

It is about 5.7 million dollars in total and until that figure is paid, the Avellaneda entity will not be able to incorporate soccer players. In addition, youth players over the age of 15 who signed up in 2023 will not be able to perform in their categories either.

Both supporters and former players and current members of the Rojo squad and coaching staff collaborated financially through the Mercadopago account that Maratea opened for contributions to be made: Maratearojo. The CVU number is: 0000003100056132456587. There are also fixed payment links, where the contributor can donate 32,000, 16,000, 8,000, or 4,000.
