Family and friends are mourning the lack of a younger musical prodigy.
Nell Smith, the 17-year-old who’s greatest identified for collaborating with The Flaming Lips, handed away instantly on Oct. 5.
“It pains us a lot to say that our feisty, gifted, distinctive, stunning daughter was cruelly taken from us on Saturday evening,” Nell’s household stated in an Instagram tribute put up on Oct. 7. “We’re reeling from the information and do not know what to do or say.”
Nell was slated to launch her debut solo album in early 2025 after releasing an album of covers of Nick Cave songs with The Flaming Lips in 2021 titled The place the Viaduct Looms.
