Chad Pergram, senior congressional correspondent for Fox News, has the latest on the fact that the House of Representatives has passed the debt ceiling deal by a 314-117 vote on “The Ingraham Angle.”
FIRST ON FOX — Republican Congressman Mike Lawler, RN.Y., will introduce legislation Thursday to ban universities that “authorize anti-Semitic events on campus” from participating in student loan and scholarship programs.
The “Stop Anti-Semitism on College Campuses Act” was proposed in response to a recent controversial CUNY Law School speech, in which the speaker, student Fatima Mousa Mohammed, accused the US military and Israel of “arbitrary” killing, and asked students to join a “revolution” against Zionism, capitalism and racism.
Mohammed said Israel “continues to indiscriminately rain bullets and bombs on believers, kill the elderly and the young, even attack funerals and cemeteries” and “lynches mobs to attack Palestinian homes and businesses while imprisoning its children.”
NEW YORK CITY MAYOR ERIC ADAMS BLOWS ‘NEGATIVITY AND DIVISION’ INTO CUNY LAW STUDENT’S ENTRY SPEECH
The speech drew bipartisan reactions from progressives such as Bronx Rep. Ritchie Torres, DN.Y., who called the address “anti-Israeli derangement syndrome,” and former New York Republican congressman Lee Zeldin, who said taxpayers’ money was diverted from college because of “furious anti-Semitism.”
Lawler is calling for CUNY to “get severe punishment if they continue to give hate a home” through his bill, which would amend the Higher Education Act of 1965 to add that an institution “cannot authorize, facilitate, finance or otherwise support” antisemitism.
“No college or university should receive a single dollar in federal education funding if they are committed to promoting anti-Semitism at an event on their campus.” -Mike Lawler, RN.Y.
“CUNY should be ashamed of herself for allowing this ridiculous anti-Semitism to permeate her campus,” he added. “Stopping anti-Semitism is critical to supporting our Jewish communities in New York.”

Jeffery Lax, a law professor at the university, told Fox News’ Trace Gallagher Wednesday on “Fox News @ Night,” “In my 20 years of doing this, this is the worst, most disgusting opening speech I’ve ever heard. .”
The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) of New York and New Jersey tweeted“We are shocked to see such a blatant display of hostility towards ‘Zionists’ (as many Jews see themselves) and Israel in CUNY Law’s commencement speech. This is yet another example of the harm Jewish students are experiencing on campus. “

The pro-Israel American campus group followed 18 incidents since 2015 on the CUNY Law School campus where students or teachers spoke out against Israel.
According to the Jewish Virtual Library, 36 states have passed laws, executive orders or resolutions to discourage boycotts against Israel. Many, but not all, of these laws are designed to restrict or discourage Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) groups on college campuses.
