A New York Police Department officer on duty was attacked and hit on the head with a bottle in an attack by a random passerby that was caught on video.

Police say the officer is in stable condition and the suspect has been arrested at the scene.

Garcia was charged with assault, obstruction of government administration, resisting arrest, endangerment, criminal possession of weapons and harassment.

The Post reported that Garcia has been arrested 11 times in the past.

The attack comes about a week after Manhattan prosecutor Alvin Bragg called his house the “safest big city in America” ​​after Republicans blamed his progressive policies for contributing to violent crime.
