Parents’ rights groups are siding with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who slammed the White House after two transgender activists went topless at a gay pride event this week.
After the White House agreed that topless activists were “inappropriate and disrespectful” and would not be invited back to the White House, DeSantis asked why anyone would want that kind of curriculum “crammed into a second grader’s classroom?”
That was a reference to the parental rights law he signed in Florida that prohibits education about sexual orientation or gender identity before third grade or in a manner inappropriate for students’ ages. Several parent rights groups said DeSantis is perfect.
“I agree with Governor DeSantis in his analogy with his parental rights law,” Sheri Few, president and founder of United States Parents Involved in Education, told Fox News Digital, “If it’s inappropriate for adults, why is it? It’s OK for The same can be said of the pornographic and vulgar books in government schools that parents across the country are objecting to.”

Few explained that there have been “several incidents” where parents have read aloud sexually explicit books from their child’s school library at school board meetings, only to have their microphones turned off because the content was so offensive.
“These are exactly the materials that are being made available to children in government schools,” says Few. Gov. DeSantis’ parental rights law, which the liberal left dubbed the “Don’t Say Gay Law,” criticizes him for the portion of the law that prohibits sexual orientation and gender identity education for children in grades K-3. We’re over 6-9 year olds! How outrageous is it that adults think this is okay for very young children, but not for adults?”
Erika Sanzi, director of outreach at Parents Defending Education, wrote about the issue in the New York Post, and echoed Few’s assessment in a statement to Fox News Digital.

“The Florida bill was about instruction on sexual orientation and gender identity in grades K-3,” Sanzi said. “Maybe now that the Biden administration has shown that it has boundaries, they will stop smearing and lying about elected officials and parents who don’t think trans activism and PRIDE events are appropriate in schools.”
Suzanne Gallagher, executive director of parents’ rights in education, told Fox News Digital that “public display of nudity in the national capital and elsewhere by far-left LGBTQAI+ activists is an extension of their larger agenda.”
“It is the goal of the far left to change culture by removing all sexual moral stigmas,” Gallagher explains. “They’re doing this by using public schools and making K-12 universally mandatory — every child, every grade, every subject — sex education.”
Across the country, many Pride events have been labeled “family-friendly,” including an event in West Hollywood, California, earlier this month in which men acted out an explicit sexual act.

Few told Fox News Digital that, in its opinion, Pride events “will never be family-friendly.”
“I believe Pride celebrations, with their lascivious and drunken displays, are a true reflection of the mental health issues associated with this often promiscuous lifestyle,” Few said. “Trying to make ‘LGBTQ Pride’ palatable to kids is just another way to indoctrinate kids with the leftist agenda.”
The kind of behavior that few refer to as being promoted “properly” should have “no place on White House grounds,” Action Walker Wildmon, CEO of the American Family Association, told Fox News Digital.

“Our nation is built on respect for biblical morality and decency, with immoral behavior discouraged and even banned in many cases,” Wildmon said. “It is sad that what was once considered indecent behavior that caused shame is now being flaunted by the president and other leaders in our government. Our nation must return to a biblical family ethic where we promote what is truly right and acceptable.”
“The nationwide response we’re getting regarding this trend of promoting and demanding acceptance of all sexual behaviors at any age by everyone is negative,” Gallagher told Fox News Digital. “Most people want higher, not lower, moral standards for themselves and their children.”
“Parents and allies are tired of seeing and hearing it everywhere every day,” she added. “Students in their schools are also fed up with it. Polls show that the net effect is less rather than more respect for those who ask for it.”
