Authorities in Mexico said a bus fell off a cliff on the western side of the country, killing at least 18 people and injuring more than 30 others, including nearly a dozen children, according to a report.

The Nayarit prosecutor’s office said on Sunday evening that the bus fell about 15 meters into a ravine on Saturday night, Reuters reported.

The incident took place in the Mexican state of Nayarit near a highway that connects Tepic to Puerto Vallarta, a popular tourist destination.

The Nayarit Ministry of Security and Civil Protection has released photos showing rescuers pulling victims from the wreckage.
