New Delhi, India – India is home to the third largest Muslim population in the world, with about 200 million Muslims living as a minority in a predominantly Hindu country in the country.
According to new data on religious projections from the Pew Research Center, India will have the largest population of two of the largest religions in the world – Hinduism and Islam – in the coming decades.
By 2050, the country is expected to have 311 million Muslims, 11 percent of the global total.
