Platense won a lawsuit in the TAS and they must return the First Division category

One of the biggest bombings recorded in the history of the National League would be cooking in the coming days as Platense would be close to returning to the First Division.

LA PRENSA learned firsthand that the TAS (Court of Arbitration for Sports) ruled in favor of “Escualo”, after the Buenos Aires team denounced the league entity for inconsistencies in the registration process of Honduras Progreso and Real Sociedad in July 2021.

The Platense thing took a course of no return after the secretary of the Honduran National League, José Salomón Galindo, did not proceed in due time and form to the registration of two other teams, but did accept payments outside the spaces established by regulation .

Actions that consisted of registering Honduras Progreso and Real Sociedad irregularly, according to the complaint, a situation that at the time was also denounced by Victoria de La Ceiba, via one of his collaborators, Víctor Kawas.

This Thursday, at the beginning of the Extraordinary Assembly to establish the bases of the Apertura 2023 tournament, the bomb exploded on the return of the “Shark”, who already has the TAS letter with the ruling in his favor.

In the statement, the TAS also confirms that Fenafuth must pay 70% of the demand made by Platense (14 thousand Swiss francs).

In a document shared with Diario LA PRENSA, the Court of Arbitration Resolves the following:

1- Partially admit the appeal by Platense FC, against the decision issued by the National Football Federation of Honduras dated December 26, 2022.

2- Annul the decision issued on December 26, 2022 by Fenafuth.

3- That Platense was actively legitimized before the courts of Fenafuth as resolved in the decision dated April 27, 2022 by the Board of Directors of the National Professional Soccer League of Honduras.

– The Apertura 2023 with 11 clubs? –

In the context of the return of Platense from Puerto Cortés, the National League would have to draw up a calendar with 11 clubs registered for the Apertura 2023 tournament.
