The supposed attack suffered by the president of the National Congress, Luis Redondo, is under a veil of mystery, authorities and people close to the congressman do not confirm or distort the information.
“Well, they have not communicated anything, except for the Board of Directors of Congress who notified that it is fine,” explained Carlos Umaña, a deputy and companion of Redondo’s bench.
The also doctor was asked if the attack was real then, to which he replied: “Well, we only know that he is fine, the rest we don’t know.”
A source close to the congressman did not want to provide information on this mysterious case either, since more than 6 hours after the news was released, he continues to request time to confirm or deny this highly impactful fact.
The National Police, through a statement on social networks, explained that the president of the National Congress was the victim of an attempted attack through his food, although more information about the facts is unknown. The police stressed that they will investigate the alleged attack.
LA PRENSA tried to communicate with the congressman, but did not respond to calls or messages.
From the early hours of this Saturday it emerged that Redondo was the victim of an attack in which they sought to assassinate him with ground glass in his food and that he was immediately transferred to a hospital.
From the opposition, the representative of the National Party, Jack Uriarte, describes this fact as a show.
“That is more false than the stories of the terrible bean, it will be that he already has the last days left as de facto president because they will remove him. Luis Redondo stops preparing these shows because the Honduran people don’t believe you!“.
