“In connection with the action, the police have fired one shot at one person. The person is conscious and is being cared for by the health service,” the Oslo police precinct said at 2:40 am.

– We were on site in connection with an arrest in a drug case, says police lawyer Erlend Bakke to Aftenposten.

The police do not want to say anything about the course of events or the reason for the action or the shooting. Special forces have taken over the investigation.

Whether the detainees will be placed in pre-trial detention has not yet been decided, says Bakke.

Neither the police nor the Bureau want to say more about the condition of the person shot.

According to information from VG, a young man was shot and is said to be seriously injured.

Arrest ordered

Two people were arrested in the action against a so-called apartment hotel in Greenland.

– We were on site because it had been decided in advance to arrest and search these two. Work on searching rooms and people went on all night, operations manager Sven Christian Lie told NTB. He would not say what the two were arrested for.

At 07:00, the police reported that they were on site with the closing phase. Lie would not say whether the person shot is one of the two detainees or a third person.

Two shots heard

An eyewitness tells Dagbladet that he heard two shots and that a man was taken to hospital. A hotel guest says other guests witnessed the shooting. The man must have been lying on the ground afterwards.

Police are referring all questions about the case to the Bureau and would not say whether they searched any of the apartment hotel’s rooms.

A press release from the Bureau sent out on the night of Sunday confirms that they have been notified that a person has been shot by police.

“The purpose of the investigation is to shed light on the course of events and the more detailed circumstances surrounding the shooting situation,” the press release said.

Kripos has been notified and will assist with the investigation of the crime scene.

“The weapons involved will be secured. The Bureau will question officials and witnesses as soon as possible,” it said.

The unit states that, for the purpose of further investigation, no further information is currently being provided about the case.
