FIRST ON FOX: Democratic presidential nominee Robert F. Kennedy Jr. insists he has a way to beat President Biden in a 2024 primary even without a debate.

Kennedy called Fox News Digital last week and talked about securing the border, the assassination of his uncle John F. Kennedy and his chances of unseating Biden in Democratic primaries.

“Yes, I can win,” Kennedy told Fox News Digital when asked if he can beat Biden.

“The public polls show that I am 20% more in favor of the Democrats, and our private polls show that I have very strong support among independents and even Republicans.”

“So much stronger than any other Democratic candidate,” Kennedy continued. “So I think I’m probably better placed to win a general election than anyone else on the Democratic ticket.”

When it comes to the lack of Democratic primary debates, Kennedy said he can’t say why the president chooses not to debate with him.

“But I don’t think it’s a good choice,” Kennedy said. “I think we now live in a time where many Americans feel that democracy has been manipulated and the electoral system has been manipulated.”

The Democratic Party should be an example of how democracy works to select the best candidates, Kennedy said.

“We need to be able to show people that democracy works and that the United States is not like the Soviet Union, where the party picks candidates and the public really has nothing to say,” Kennedy said. And we have to be the party of the New Deal, not the Rigged Deal, and I think the optics of that are very bad at the moment as well.

“We should try to convince the public that we are the Democratic Party and that we believe in democracy. And that the public should actually be able to elect candidates, meet them, watch them debate, touch them and participate in their own governance.” .”

Kennedy said he entered the race because he believes “the Democratic Party is on the wrong track right now” — just like the Republican Party — because it has become “the party of war, censorship and fear.”

“A party that has brought the warmongering neocons into our foreign policy and handed over our domestic policy Wall Street and big companiesKennedy said. And we live in a time where many Americans, 57% of Americans, can’t get their hands on $1,000 when their families have an emergency, where a quarter of Americans are hungry or malnourished, malnourished, and where the middle class is now in our country is collapsing.

“In 1970, the middle class earned 62% of salaries. Today it’s 42%. And the super-rich have gone from 29% to 50%. So there you can see why so many Americans feel like they live at the … even the upper middle class feel they are living on the edge. And that guilt has just become a fact for most Americans.”

Kennedy added that he thinks there is a “feeling” among Americans that “something is going wrong with our country and the people who are currently in power aren’t going to fix it.”

Fellow Democratic presidential nominee Marianne Williamson took over 9% of Biden’s Democratic supporters in the poll.

Biden’s loss of voters to Kennedy and Williamson could be a dark cloud for the president as he seeks a second term.
