Ronald Reagan’s presidential library was vandalized on Sunday ahead of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ visit, police said.

“Ron DeFascist” was spray-painted on the library entrance sign overnight.

Simi Valley police say the graffiti was discovered by library staff before 7:30 a.m. on Sunday.

Library staff quickly removed the graffiti from the board.

Police do not believe witnesses saw the vandalism.

“The vandalism occurred at night and there were no witnesses,” Simi Valley police said in a statement.

“There are no indications of threats or other crimes,” the statement said.

DeSantis was scheduled to discuss his book “The Courage to Be Free: Florida’s Blueprint for America’s Revival” on Sunday afternoon. According to the library’s website, the event was sold out.

The book review comes as Florida’s governor is suspected of launching a campaign for the 2024 presidential race.

DeSantis came in second behind former President Donald Trump in Saturday’s Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) straw poll.
