Strong to severe thunderstorms are forecast Thursday for parts of the Plains over the middle of the Mississippi and Ohio Valley, with the risk of large hail, damaging winds, heavy rains and isolated tornadoes.

These storms will help move smoke from Canada’s wildfires to the East Coast, where air quality warnings are still in effect for another day.
