A month after moving to Miami, Shakira immerses herself in the city’s culture and gets in on the action of Miami’s Grand Prix.
However, the ‘Hips Don’t Lie’ singer did not enjoy the festivities solo, as she was seen with actor Tom Cruise all day on Sunday.
Hidden behind huge sunglasses, the Colombian singer and “Mission Impossible” actor walked among the thousands in the stands and briefly posed for a photo.

Despite missing the actual coronation weekend, Cruise pre-recorded a message for the monarch. “Pilot to pilot, Your Majesty, you can always be my wingman,” he said before descending into the clouds.

Shakira’s weekend involved more than just racing. She was also recognized as Billboard’s first Woman of the Year at Saturday’s Latin Women in Music gala.
The singer, whose world has been turned upside down over the past year, celebrated a woman’s strength as she seemingly took a shot at her ex, Gerard Piqué.
“This has been a year of seismic changes in my life in which I have felt more than ever and very personally what it is to be a woman. And what it means,” she told the crowd in Spanish, translated into English by Billboard. “It’s been a year where I realized that we women are stronger than we think, braver than we thought, more independent than we were taught to be. Because what woman hasn’t forgotten herself at some point in her life because she’s looking for someone else’s attention and love?”
“It happened to me more than once,” she confessed.

“But there comes a point in every woman’s life when she is no longer dependent on someone else to love and accept herself as she is,” she said. “A time when the search for someone else is replaced by the search for oneself. A time when the desire to be perfect is replaced by the desire to be authentic, and when finding someone who is faithful is less important than being true to ourselves.”
She and her partner of 12 years, former FC Barcelona star Piqué, split last June. Rumors of infidelity on Piqué’s part swirled after the pair announced they were going their separate ways. According to Page Six, fans noticed that Piqué’s current girlfriend, Clara Chia Marti, was in the background of a Zoom he did in 2021.
A source close to Shakira told the outlet that the Grammy Award-winning singer was “devastated to hear that this woman clearly felt at home in the home they shared with their children.”

Shakira and Piqué were involved in a custody battle over their two sons, Milan, 10, and Sasha, 8, and reached a custody agreement in November, allowing her to move to Miami with her boys.
“It’s true that when I felt most lost, music put me on the road back to myself. But the most important lessons I learned from other women, and for them, I wrote what I wrote, and I sang what I sang. Because only a woman can love until she’s torn apart; can speak with the most brutal honesty; can sing with rage; dance in ecstasy and be brought to tears with emotion. Only a woman can do that,” she said against the public.

Shakira turned to more positivity and then applauded her mother, Nidia.
“Mami, despite the hardships you have endured this year, you still stand with boundless love and resilience. You, Mami, have been my woman of the year. So this recognition is for you, and also for my friends who have helped me supported and who hold me up when my legs give out.”
She continued: “I receive this honor with great love, but for me, more than celebrating the woman of the year, we should celebrate the year of the woman. A year in which we women touched subjects that could not be touched , and said things that couldn’t be said. And though some may have complained, there’s no going back. Together we’ve taken a step forward, and with each step we’re freer and more fulfilled.”
