Violent and widespread rioting is taking place across France after the shooting of a 17-year-old during a traffic check.

Video on social media showed the moment police shot Nahel M, on June 27 in the Parisian suburb of Nanterre.

Riots broke out later that same day and have continued every day since then, spreading throughout the country.

The officer involved has apologized to the family and has been charged with voluntary manslaughter.
