It was so difficult for her to leave his life, that the artist has shown that it took him ten years to create a song for her, to honor her presence as he says.
“Grandma was very important not only for me but for all the children. During communism, she could not even come to see her children at all. When the borders were opened, the meeting happened immediately. The grandmother lived here until she was 28, then she married her grandfather, then she came to Pristina, where she lived until the end of her life. My grandfather was the first to translate the works of Sami Frashëri. My grandmother didn’t get to see me famous. I think she would be very proud of me. I spent a lot of time with my grandmother, she taught me a lot. I spent almost 10 years since my grandmother died to make a song that honors her presence,” said Shpat Deda.
