Stolen DC pizza dough truck overturns afterwards

A suspect from Washington, D.C., in a stolen pizza dough truck, hit the personal car of a Secret Service officer on Wednesday, causing the truck to overturn.

The US Secret Service (USSS) employee’s car was hit, but authorities did not disclose the extent of the damage. The crash occurred around 3 p.m. near 19th St. and Virginia Ave in Northwest DC

The truck driver was rushed to a local hospital in stable condition. The USSS officer was not injured in the incident.

District of Columbia Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department officials unloaded the diesel fuel from the truck after the crash.

“Shortly before 3 p.m., a box truck reported stolen collided with a personal vehicle driven by a Secret Service Uniformed Division officer at the intersection of 19th St. and Virginia Ave. NW,” USSS Public Information Officer said. Lt. Paul Mayhair in a statement to Fox News Digital.

The stolen truck accident occurred near 19th St. and Virginia Ave in Northwest DC (DC Fire and EMS via Twitter)

“The officer was unharmed in the crash and emergency services detained the driver of the box truck,” the statement said. “There were no public injuries and the truck driver was taken to a local hospital in police custody while our investigation continues.”

The Metropolitan Police Department confirmed to Fox News Digital that the USSS is actively investigating the incident. There are no additional details at this time.
