Refutation regarding some news circulating in the media, about the equipment seized at the ASHRAF 3 camp, in Manzë, Durrës.
For several days, the State Police has been following various announcements on social networks and in the media, which are related to the actions taken by the Police, regarding the equipment seized in the ASHRAF 3 camp, in Manzë, Durrës, on 20.06. 2023.
In these announcements, it is stated or implied that the computer equipment seized in the ASHRAF 3 camp, in Manzë, Durrës, on 20.06.2023, were sent outside the territory of the Republic of Albania, as well as that there were contacts with the Iranian state or with citizens of this country, in relation to them or more widely in terms of the investigations being carried out by the Directorate for the Investigation of Cyber Crimes and the Directorate of Anti-Terrorism, in cooperation with the Special Prosecutor’s Office against Corruption and Organized Crime.
Regarding the above, the State Police clarifies that:
• None of its investigative structures and the Special Prosecution against Corruption and Organized Crime have had contact with the Iranian state or its citizens.
• All seized devices have been placed at the disposal of the relevant structure which will carry out the digital expertise, according to the legal procedure.
• None of the seized computer equipment and any material extracted from these equipment was sent outside the territory of the Republic of Albania.
• All the announcements that circulate in social networks and media about the above are not only false, but also in specific cases have other goals that go beyond informing the public.
The State Police is always available and in defense of the legitimate interests of its citizens and anyone residing in the Republic of Albania.
