A Pennsylvania woman is accused of leading her estranged boyfriend to commit suicide after allegedly sending him “horrific” text messages and videos of her having sex with another man.

Mandie Reusch, 35, is charged with assisted suicide and felony harassment in connection with the investigation that began two years ago, the Westmoreland County district attorney said in a press release.

The district attorney’s office said Kevin Metzger, 37, committed suicide on June 18, 2021, in response to Reusch sending him “horrific and explicit” text messages. Metzger spoke about the series of agonizing messages in a suicide note and Facebook posts before taking his own life.

“Mr. Metzger may still be here today if those messages have not influenced and encouraged him to take his own life,” prosecutor Nicole Ziccarelli said in a statement.

Reusch sent a number of harassing messages to Metzger when he was on military training and she was home with their child, police said, according to Pennlive.com. She repeatedly threatened to keep their daughter away from him, court documents show. She told him via WhatsApp that she was moving in with a new man, who she believed would be the new father of their child. She also informed Metzger that he would never see his child again.

“I hope for the sake of (the child) you commit suicide,” Reusch reportedly texted him. “She shouldn’t even know you.”

She also told him she would have sex with her new man on Mother’s Day “while your daughter calls him daddy”.

At another point, Reusch allegedly sent a video of her having sex with another man after Metzger sent her $200, which she said wasn’t enough.

In a 2020 message, Reusch told him, “Go kill yourself. You’re not a real (expletive) human being.”

Ziccarelli said in her statement that her office extends its “condolences to the Metzger family for their loss and the grief they have experienced since his death. We will not allow or tolerate this type of egregious behavior.”

The prosecutor said the level of harassment, intimidation and threats in this case has risen to a “criminal level”, and that her office will prosecute it “to the fullest extent of the law”.

Reusch was charged Tuesday morning and held on bail. Her next trial is scheduled for June 27.

She was previously charged with harassment over the allegedly harassing posts, but the case was dropped when Metzger died, according to Pennlive.com.

Metzger told Reusch the day he ended his life that he would post her messages online after she said he couldn’t see his daughter for Father’s Day.
