A memorial was inaugurated today in the area of Darsija in Lushnje. This memorial was placed in commemoration of the massacre of the Serbian army against the residents of the area.
On March 25, 1913, the Serbian hordes massacred 27 inhabitants of the village of Gjuzaj after this village resisted the invaders.
Historian Niko Ferro, doctor professor tells the event as it is documented where in the historical annals this massacre is found, where 27 inhabitants were killed by the Serbian army, while they were on their way to conquer Berat and beyond until they joined the Greeks, thus aiming the disappearance of Albania.
The names of the 27 inhabitants of the village who were massacred by the Serbian forces in the war after the declaration of independence are engraved on the memorial.
Descendants of the murdered, residents of the area, representatives of political forces and local government took part in the ceremony. The participants in this commemoration will ask President Begaj that these martyrs receive the proper recognition.
